Origins of my Personal Brand

Hello everyone! If you are reading this, you are most likely a client or employer I am currently pursuing, and if you're not, I hope you still enjoy the content. Since this is my first blog post, what better way than to talk about the origins of my personal brand!

As you can see on the left side corner, it is a monogram shaped like the most common British fruit. In hindsight, having my own name as a personal brand doesn't tell anyone what my services are as a designer, in fact, I considered rebranding several times during my master's degree; however, the brand itself has been developed from a concept that has sentimental value to me due to the personal values it represented during my undergraduate degree.
Towards the end of my third year (pre-pandemic 2020), I campaigned to be the next Student President of Welfare & Incisively because (like today) I wanted to use my design and problem-solving skills to reduce mental health and social issues. Previous student presidents had advised using puns to make our campaigns memorable and fun, so I obviously went with the fruit - although the slogan could have been rephrased (whoops).
Things I've learned from this experience:
Slogans can have more than one connotation.
Being a one-person campaign team isn't as effective.
Dressing up as a strawberry makes you memorable - I even got an award for best campaign costume!
If you decide to wear a strawberry costume, don't hand out your flyers next to a cake sale - people think you are promoting cakes now.
Perhaps I will rebrand if I decide to go freelance, but for now, I think this works as a personal brand - I still like the pun and the backstory it has. The only things I want to correct on this logo are any irregular curves and spacing it has at present.
